The pump is used for pumping water and oil from very deep sites. It has a compact design, increased life-span, improved efficiency and offers the possibility of smooth adjustment of the flow rate. The pump consists of an AC induction motor (1) driving the piston rod (6) and the flange of the motor is rigidly fixed to a pipe (9), at the threaded end of which is screwed a nut (11) and a plastic sealed block (10). To the block (10) is mounted an inner pipe (12) with a magnet (13) fixed rigidly on it and a moving nut (14) engaged with the screw on the shaft of the motor (1). At the other end of the inner pipe (12), a threaded joint connects it to the piston rod (6). To the outer pipe (9) along the height are mounted two reed contacts (16 and 17) respectively connected to timers (18 and 19) with potentiometers switched in a tandem circuit. The timers (18 and 19) are connected to contactors (20 and 21) for driving the motor (1) in one of the two rotational directions. The motor is powered by a frequency converting source (22).
