PURPOSE:To improve durability and fixability by providing a roller having a ceramic coating layer contg. Cr2O3 formed in situ from CrO3 as a fixing roller and/or pressing roller. CONSTITUTION:The fixing roller 1 and the pressing roller 2 are the rollers having the ceramic layer contg. Cr2O3 formed in situ from CrO3. The rollers consists respectively of the roller base bodies 1a, 2a and the ceramic layers 1b, 2b. The rollers 1, 2 are respectively rotatably supported at both ends by an upper side plate 3 and a lower side plate 4. The roller 1 is further rotationally driven in an arrow direction by a motor via a gear provided at the end thereof. On the other hand, the roller 2 is rotated in an arrow direction by frictional force. Paper P is advanced in the arrow direction by the rotation of such rollers 1, 2, by which the pressure fixing of a toner image T is progressed. The surface of the paper P which supports the toner image T is brought into press contact with the roller 1 and the rear thereof is brought into press contact with the roller 2. |
