METHOD FOR SERICIN FIXING

removing some portions of the sericin of the raw silk made from cocoons by using the proteolytic enzyme solution; fixing the rest sericin by using aldehyde-based fixation agent, e.g. glutaraldehyde; graft-polymerizing the sericin- fixed raw silk by using the vinyl monomer, e.g. hydroxyethyl methacrylate or methacryl amide; and weighting the raw silk. This method can enhance the sericin fixation rate by fixing the sericin after removing some portions of soluble outer portions of the sericin, improve the stiffness of the fixed raw silk by graft-polymerizing with vinyl monomer as well as enhancing the weighting effect.
