PURPOSE:To establish the management method capable of making an efficient distribution of cars in the mobile station position management method for the AVM(Automatic Vehicle Monitoring System). CONSTITUTION:A mobile station 1a is provided with a self station location arithmetic unit 23 specifying the location of the self station as coordinate data and a radio equipment 5a capable of sending the coordinate data to a base station 2a. On the other hand, the base station 2a is provided with a radio equipment 6a capable of receiving the coordinate data sent from the mobile station 1a and an area division data file 14a of a map data file 13a and a management area (areas a, b,...) and a position management system 24 determining the management area where the mobile station 1a is located by retrieving the data files 13a and 14a based on the received coordinate data. In the AVM system, the management of the mobile station is performed as follows: the management area is decided and divided along the topographical features on the mobile traffic to prepare the area division data file 14a and the location of the mobile station 1a is managed by the area division data. |
