<p>1295320 Curable P.V.C. compositions C-J CORP 3 June 1970 [4 June 1969] 26791/70 Heading C3P Curable P.V.C. powder compositions comprise (1) a polyethylenic ester obtained from an alpha-beta unsaturated monocarboxylic acid and a polyhydric aliphatic alcohol of m.w. below 600 (2) bulk polymerized particles of P.V.C. and (3) a free radical initiator, the weight ratio of (1) to (2) being 3 : 97 to 25 : 75. The compositions may be moulded and cured at 120- 200‹C. or preformed into sheets at 100-120‹C. and then cured. Optional additives are plasticizer (up to 3%), stabilizer and filler particular glass fibres or powder. A second ethylenic monomer may also be present e.g. styrene or vinyl toluene. The exemplified ester is trimethylol propane trimethacrylate and the catalyst 2,5-dimethyl-2,5-bis-(t-butyl peroxy) hexyne-3.</p> |
