The present invention relates to a device for displaying call transfer functions, which is intended to allow a subscriber or a user of a telephone instrument to know the status of his line with respect to call transfer. According to the invention, the sequence for cancellation or the sequence for activation of the call transfer is detected (83), either on the telephone line or on the telephone instrument or terminal (83, 84, 90 on Figure 7) itself, in such a way as to produce a light or audio indication (96, 97 or 98) of the status of the call transfer, without it being necessary to pick up the handset. <IMAGE>
