PURPOSE:To obtain enough and uniform adhesion property between a transparent substrate for a color filter and colored picture elements by forming a primer layer of a specified silica coating material. CONSTITUTION:This color filter has a primer layer, colored picture element layers of red, green and blue, and transparent resin layer formed in this order on a transparent substrate. The primer layer consists of a silica coating film formed by applying and heating a soln. obtd. by hydrolysis and condensation of alkoxy silane deriv. In this case, the alkoxy silane deriv. may be used in a single form or mixture of two or more kinds. Or, a tetraalkoxy compd. as well as dialkoxy compd. and trialkoxy compd. may be used to modify the desired hardness and desity of the film. Then picture elements of red, green and blue colors and a black matrix are formed on the transparent substrate coated with this primer layer by printing method, photolithography, dyeing method, electrodeposition or the like. |
