PURPOSE:To provide the image processor for light transmissive particles so as to clearly identify the light transmissive image of the light transmissive particles and a background image. CONSTITUTION:Based on the image density information of gradation images obtained by photodetecting light transmitted through transparent particles and light from the background, an outer contour line Lo for partitioning a deep image area A0 at the outer peripheral part of the transparent particles and light image areas B0-B3 as the background image and an inner contour line Li for partitioning a light image area H0 in the transparent particles and the deep image area A0 are extracted. The outer contour line Lo and the inner contour line Li are stored in a memory while being paired with image density gradient data crossing these contour lines. Based on the threshold value of the image density gradient data, for example, the image processor discriminates the image density gradient data at a value higher than this threshold value as the outer contour line Lo and identifies the contour line corresponding to the image density gradient data at a value lower than the threshold value as the inner contour line Li. |
