PURPOSE:To make the precision of the positioning of a common electrode panel and a display driving panel sufficiently high. CONSTITUTION:The common electrode panel 31 is provided with a lattice-shaped light shield part 33 which restrains the size of a picture element part formed of liquid crystal and also prevents light from leaking except from the picture element part. Positioning marks 24 are provided at two specific positions on the rectangular picture element electrode 23 of a display driving panel 11 without protruding from the picture element electrode 23. When the common electrode panel 31 is superposed on the display driving panel 11 through spacers at the time of assembly, the positioning marks 24 are put on the intersections of edge parts 33a and 33b of the light shield part 33 and then the common electrode panel 31 and display driving panel 11 can be positioned without any permissible difference.
