<p>PURPOSE: To provide a structure for maintaining a condition where an electrical connector makes electrical contact with a terminal of an initiation device. CONSTITUTION: An inflator 10 for inflating a car-mounted air bag 12 discharges a gas at the time of operation to inflate the air bag 12. The inflator 10 has terminals 144 and 146 electrically contacted to an electrical connector 152 of an on-vehicle circuit. An initiation device 142 operates in response to reception of electrical signals from the connector 152 through the terminals 144 and 146 to start the inflator 10. A lock pin 160 is attached to the initiation device 142 by means of the body of a plastic material 230. The lock pin 160 keeps a condition where the connector 152 is brought into electrical contact with the terminals 144 and 146 of the initiation device 142. The lock pin 160 is preferably made of material different in type from the body of the plastic material 230.</p> |
