PURPOSE:To enhance the exhaust efficiency of developer by driving a developing roller when the developer is to be exhausted, driving a covering a certain time afterward, and exposing the substance to be exhausted within a developing chamber. CONSTITUTION:A development device includes a photo-sensitive drum 1, developing chamber 2, toner hopper 3, magnet roller 4, agitating roller 5, sink plate 7, toner density sensor 8, doctor 9. toner refill roller 10, and toner conveying screw 11. When developer is to be exhausted, the rollers 4, 5 are rotated while a covering 35 is shut to enclose the substance exhausted 27. A certain time afterward, the covering 35 is opened while the substance exhausted 27 is rotated, which is thus exposed within the developing chamber 2. Because agitated with rotation of the rollers 4, 5, the developer is better fluidized and is easier conveyed by the substance exhausted 27. As a result, the time for exhaustion of developer is shortened. |
