PURPOSE:To prevent an inner part minute short circuit, caused by acuteness at a windup end part of a positive electrode plate or a burr or a projection of core bar, in the windup part of a spiral electrode plate group of a storage battery. CONSTITUTION:In a rectangular positive electrode plate 1 using punched metal as core material, both ends in a winding direction of the core material are composed of non-opening parts, a recessed notch is formed on a corner of a windup end part, and moreover, a corner on a windup end part side of the notch is machined into a smoothly curved shape. The positive electrode plate 1, a negative electrode plate, and a separator interposed between them, are wound, and then an alkali-proof adhesive tape is wound, with an end part of a positive electrode plate outermost periphery covered, to compose a spiral electrode plate group. |
