PURPOSE:To enable substitution wherein maintenance and control items are limited without lowering the security level of a controlled-side computer when the whole or part of plural computer systems which are connected by a network is brought under the centralized control of a specific computer. CONSTITUTION:A control substitute generates an electronic mail of maintenance commands expected to be executed on the controlled-side computer 2 by using a control-side computer 1 and sends the electronic mail from a maintenance command transmitting means 4. The controlled-side computer 2, on the other hand, receives the maintenance commands by a maintenance command receiving means 5 and then verifies them by a verifying means 6 when the received maintenance commands are proper, so that a maintenance command executing means 7 executes the commands. Therefore, the need to show a password is eliminated to prevent the security level of the controlled-side computer 2 from decreasing, and limited authority is given, so the centralized control can be performed with efficiency.
