DISPLAY DEVICE AND CONTROLLING METHOD THEREFOR

PURPOSE:To provide a display device and its controlling method capable of executing vertical scrolling in a display device having a display part arraying plural display units in a horizontal direction and vertically scanning each display unit without rewriting the display data of a display RAM and capable of reducing the load of a CPU. CONSTITUTION:An transmission enable signal from a screen controller 2' and a transmission clock from a transmission frequency divider 10 are applied to an AND circuit 12 to find out their AND and a real transmission clock is outputted to a display part 9. Although a V-RAM 7 is duplexed to one vertical raster of the display part 9 and twice of display data for one raster are outputted, data are limited to one raster with the real transmission clock and the vertical scrolling can be executed by variably setting up output timing in each display data of the transmission enable signal by one screen.
