PURPOSE:To provide a development device presenting good stabilized picture quality by magnetizing a developing roller in its axial direction in higher degree at the ends than in the center, and thereby preventing unevenness of the toner layer thickness on a developing roller. CONSTITUTION:A device body 10 is composed of a upperstructure 10a and a substructure 10b, and an image formation part having a belt-form sensitive element 12 is provided approx. in the center of the device body 10, and the sensitive element 12 is run in the direction of arrow. Around the element 12, a charging means 13, development device 14, transcribing means 15, and cleaning means 16 are arranged in the sequence following the running direction. When the amount of magnetization of a developing roller heightens, the toner attachment quantity (M/A) per unit area lowers, and therefore, the amount of magnetization in the axial direction of the developing roller is heightens at the ends than in the center to make correction of the toner layer for preventing occurrence of unevenness in the layer thickness over the axial direction when the developing roller has larger height at the ends than in the central part. |
