PURPOSE:To provide an electronic stringed instrument capable of switching a playing method based upon a stringed instrument having frets such as a gitter and a playing method based upon a stringed instrument having no fret such as a fretless base and a violin to play music. CONSTITUTION:Many sound height status sensing switches KSW for sensing depression to the upper face of a finger board 9 formed on the upper face of a neck 3 of the electronic stringed instrument are formed on the lower face of the finger board 9. When a operation mode is set up to a fret mode at the time of detecting the touching operation of strings 5 by a string trigger switch TSW, the switches KSW corresponding to the same string out of the switches KSW arranged between adjacent frets 10 are commanded so as to generate a musical tone having the same height even when any of the corresponding switches KSW is depressed. |
