PURPOSE:To generate a good picture image by preventing a process cartridge consisting of a sensitive substance unit and developing unit in a consolidated structure from deformation due to a developing roller being in pressure contact with the photo-sensitive substance even in the case the cartridge is stored for a long period, and allowing the developing roller to be under service in pressure contact with a photosensitive drum with a specified nipping width. CONSTITUTION:A photo-sensitive substance unit 100 and a developing unit 200 are pivoted on each other and are energized by a spring 304 in the direction of a photosensitive drum and developing roller 201 being put in pressure contact, wherein each unit is provided with a contacting surface so that a certain inter- shaft span is generated in which the developing roller 201 and sensitive substance 101 are in pressure contact with a specified nipping width, and during storage the developing roller 201 is moved apart from the sensitive substance while a spacer 310 is pinched between the contacting surfaces, and the spacer 310 is removed under service and mounting is made on the body. |
