PURPOSE:To detect the destruction of a buffer block chain in its early stage by detecting the destruction of the buffer block chain when buffers are released or secured. CONSTITUTION:The start pointer 211 and end pointer 212 of the buffer block chain, the number 213 of buffers which are already secured, the remaining number 214 of buffers, and buffer pool control information 21 including a buffer chain destruction flag 215 are provided as a buffer pool control table in an area that a user can not access. When the buffers are released, the destruction of the buffer chain is detected from a state wherein the number of released buffer blocks is larger than the number 213 of buffers. When the buffers are released, the destruction is detected from a state wherein the number of secured, buffers is smaller than the number 214 of the buffers. Consequently, if pointer information on a next buffer block is destroyed, that is detected early and reported to the user. |
