The power supply or converter of the "forward" type includes a transformer (T), the primary of which belongs to a power circuit (P) linked to a DC voltage source (Ve) and including an MOS power transistor (TR). The secondary of the transformer (T) belong to a circuit comprising a rectifying element (D2) and a capacitor (Cs) for supplying power to a load (Rs). In order, without additional components, to remove the magnetising energy stored in the magnetising inductor (Im), when the transistor (TR) passes to the off state, the following relationship is satisfied: <IMAGE> in which TOFF max is the maximum off time of the transistor (TR), and CDS1 is the value of the stray output capacitance (Coss) of this transistor at the maximum drain-source voltage. Applications: "forward" converters with primary or secondary resonance. <IMAGE>
