PURPOSE:To provide the feeding unevenness inspecting method for the optical scanner which easily and accurately inspect the feeding unevenness of the optical scanning system of the optical scanner used for an electrophotographic copying machine, etc. CONSTITUTION:An optical sensor 18 is held in the optical path of reflected light from the optical scanning system 2 and a reference chart which is switched in light and shade at specific intervals is only read normally as a document to obtain optical data having feeding unevenness information on the optical scanning system 2. The data is processed by photoelectric conversion, A/D conversion, etc., and compared with reference data to obtain whether or not there is feeding unevenness, and its direction, quantity, etc. Therefore, equipment for inspection and its electric conductors, etc., need not be added specially to the optical scanning system 2, so the feeding unevenness of the optical scanner can easily and accurately be inspected. |
