PURPOSE:To provide the machine translation system which can save trouble by constituting the device so that an article whose variation becomes necessary by replacing a translated word is also replaced automatically, at the time of executing the translated word replacement after a translation processing with respect to a certain word in a sentence of second language. CONSTITUTION:A sentence of first language inputted from an input part 11 is translated to second language by a first language sentence analyzing part 12, a semantics converting part 13 and a second language sentence generating part 14. In this regard, in its process, a translated word candidate is stored in a synonym storage part 16. After the translation is finished, when an instruction of translated word replacement is inputted from a translated word replacement instruction input part 17, a synonym replacing part 18 refers to information in the synonym storage part 16, and executes replacement of a translated word. Subsequently, an automatic article replacing part 19 is actuated, an appropriate article to a new translated word is selected, and the replacement is executed. |
