PURPOSE:To provide the message communication system which can perform the group cooperative work by using directly an existing application program as well as the terminals like a work station, a personal computer, etc. CONSTITUTION:A terminal 110 is provided with an application program 113, an input/output control program 111 which controls the use of the program 113, a system control part 112, and a communication control pert 114. Then the input events received from a keyboard device, a mouse device, etc., are inputted to the program 113 and also to an application program 123 of a terminal 120 of the opposite party. Thus a group cooperative work system is attained with no dependence on any application program between both terminals 110 and 120 which are connected together via a network. In this connection, a function is added to extend the corresponding control between the application programs and the input/output control programs which are locally controlled at each terminal and to share the input events among plural terminal applocation programs.
