The seat safety arrangement has restraint elements (pelvis bolsters 6,7) on each side of the seat which in the rest position allow free access for the seat occupant. The restraint elements can be swivelled forwards manually to provide protection for the pelvis and thorax in the event of an impact. Alternatively, they can be moved to the protective position automatically at the time of impact by an actuator.
