The pad incorporates elastic, shock absorbent sleeves (9) which have a bellows (10), a matching shaped ridge (12), and a back tapering flange for fixing onto the toilet seat. The flange incorporates matching shaped pad fastenings with collars or are fixed to the collars by inserted clamps. The rigid clamps have a corrugated side structure to compensate for any differences in the size of the pad fastenings in the toilet seat. In the centre of the clamps are curved stabilisers pressing the side walls parallel against the pad fastenings. ADVANTAGE - The buffer pad does not touch the toilet bowl rim, prevents dirt on the rim touching the inside of the toilet seat, and is shock absorbent when the seat/lid falls onto the ceramic bowl.
