Sorting of continuously moving components - using image processing system and logic unit to identify correct components that are transferred from sorting unit

Small components that are produced in quantity are sorted using an image processing system to identify if the components are present in the correct location and are in order. The components may be delivered to the checking stage by some form of vibratory feeder. When tested only those identified as good are moved from the feed path by some sort of handling unit. The decision for acceptance is based upon both detection of position and that the component form is correct. ADVANTAGE - Improves reliability of component sorting.
