<p>Pharmaceutical prepn. contains (a) a beta-receptor blocker and (b) 3,5,31-d-triiodothyronine (I), together with (c) a pharmaceutical carrier. A pref. gp. of prepns. contain 20-80 mg (esp. 30-50 mg) of 1-(2- or 4-allyloxyphenoxy)-2-hydroxy-3-isopropylaminopropane hydrochloride as the beta-receptor blocker and 0.3-3.0 mg (esp. 0.5-1.0 mg) of (I). The prepns. are esp. of use for the treatment of hyperlipaemias and atheroscleroses, esp. coronary heart disease. The hypolipaemic effect of (I) is increased by the beta-blocker, and at the same time the specific anti-anginal activity of the beta-blocker inhibits stimulation of the heart muscle by (I).</p> |
