The invention relates to a handle (8) -actuated catch-bow fitting for windows, doors or the like, in which a locking bar (2) can be advanced out of an opening position by means of a gear (9), in such a way that the end (4) of the locking bar (2) profiled for hooking engagement into the catch bow (15) can be introduced through the catch-bow longitudinal slot (16) into the orifice (6') of a counterlocking part (6). In order to achieve simplified operation and greater security, a reversing gear (9) is provided for controlling the locking bar (2), a rotation of the gear handle (8) in the same direction being converted into a forward and a return stroke of different amount of the locking bar (2). Furthermore, the counterlocking part (6) arranged in the upper region of a window frame (41) has a catch bow (15) which can pivot out perpendicularly to the window plane and which is spring-loaded into a position aligned with the orifice (6') of the counterlocking part.
