Material has an inner layer of moisture absorbent and/or air permeable intermediate layer (5) laminated to the outer layer (4). The bonding layer (6) between the outer (4) and inner (5) layers is also air and moisture permeable. The intermediate layer (5) pref. is a fibrous nonwoven of natural fibres and/or cellulose-viscose and/or synthetic fibres with or without a capillary action and/or recycled materials of these types. The recycled material is pref., a mixt. of at least 50% wool with mixed fibres making up the remainder or it is of at least 30% wool and at least 30% other natural fibres with mixed fibres for the remainder. The air permeability is pref. increased by reducing the residual foam thickness and/or the porosity of the foam and/or by a suitable choice of foam type and/or redn. of the powder, point or hot-melt application. The bonding layer (6) pref. covers the whole of the facing surfaces of the outer layer (4) and the inner layer (5) using a PUR soft foam and/or a powder, point or hot-melt application. The intermediate layer (5) has a thickness of 0.5-30.0 mm. and a fabric wt. of 50-500 g/m2. USE/ADVANTAGE - The fabric is used for covering a vehicle seat. The material has improved climatic and physiological characteristics with good air and moisture flow.
