<p>A non-aqueous coating composition is prepared from (optionally waste) polyethylene terephthalate. The polyethylene terephthalate is first reacted with an alcohol and then with carboxylic acids or their anhydrides to form a low-molecular-weight polyester with an acid value 1 then about 15. Preferably ethylenically unsaturated monomers are subsequently polymerized in the presence of this polyester.</p> |
