The present invention relates to a method for the production of bimaterial components by casting-in (overmoulding) an aluminium alloy on an insert coated with a metal film. This method is characterised in that the oxide layer is removed from the insert by means of vacuum treatment, then the insert is coated with a titanium-based film by means of physical deposition in vapour phase and the coated insert is placed in a mould which is filled with the casting-in (overmoulding) aluminium alloy. It applies, for example, to the manufacture of automobile components such as engine cylinder heads and the insertion of local reinforcements in aeronautical components.
