PURPOSE:To enhance performance and productivity of negative electrode plate by filling a cadmium oxide-dominated active material into a nonwoven iron fiber plate sintered body plated with nickel and with a given fiber diameter and length. CONSTITUTION:A nonwoven plate sintered body is obtained by sintering iron fibers of 4-50mu in diameter and 0.1-50mm. long and then plating the sintered body with nickel or by plating the said iron fibers with nickel and then sintering the nickel-plated iron fibers. Then, a slurry composed of a cadmium oxide-dominated substance, water, and a thickening agent is filled into the said nonwoven plate sintered body by spraying method using a spray gun. Thus, an inexpensive paste type negative electrode plate having excellent performance can be obtained. |
