<p>A novel silver halide photographic material is disclosed, which comprises at least one methine dye represented by the following formula (I): <CHEM> wherein Z1 and Z2 each represents an atomic group required for the formation of a 5- or 6-membered nitrogen-containing heterocyclic group; R1 represents an alkyl, aryl or heterocyclic group; R2 and R3 each represents an alkyl group, with the proviso that at least one of R2 and R3 represents an alkyl group substituted by an alkoxy or aryloxy group; L1, L2, L3, L4, L5, L6, and L7 each represents a methine group; n1 and n2 each represents an integer 0 or 1; M represents a charge neutralizing ion; and m represents 0 or a higher number required for the neutralization of electric charge in the molecule. <IMAGE></p> |
