<p>PURPOSE: To obtain an absorbent which can compost to a large degree, by forming a back sheet with a film of a soft starch base including a synthetic thermoplastic polymer of starch and an ethylenic unsaturated monomer, and forming the network texture in which starch and the polymer are mutually infiltrated, and water. CONSTITUTION: An absorbent comprises a liquid permeable top sheet, a liquid impermeable back sheet jointed to a surface sheet, and an absorbing core placed between the sheets. The back sheet is formed by a film of a soft starch base including a polymer component composed of a synthetic thermoplastic polymer of starch and at least one ethylenic unsaturated monomer. On this occasion, starch and the polymer form the network texture in which they are partially and mutually infiltrated and water. Further the sheet of the soft starch base includes a plasticizer such as a polyol formed by 1-20 of hydroxylation repeated units respectively having 2-6 carbon atoms.</p> |
