OLIGONUCLEOTIDE FOR DETECTING ENTEROTOXIGENIC ESCHERICHIA COLI AND DETECTION METHOD

PURPOSE:To provide a new oligonucleotide useful for the easy, quick and sensitive examination of food poisoning or diarrhea. CONSTITUTION:The objective chemically synthesized oligonucleotide has target sequences consisting of a nucleotide sequence coding the human-type heat-stable enterotoxin (STh) gene of enterotoxigenic Escherichia coli and a nucleotide sequence coding a swine-type heat-stable enterotoxin (STp) gene and has complementarity to the nucleotide sequences. It has the sequence of formula I, formula II or corresponding complementary sequence. The chemical synthesis of the oligonucleotide can be carried out by beta-cyanoethyl phosphamidite process using a Cyclone-plus DNA synthesizer (product of Milligen/Bio-research Co.).
