PURPOSE: To provide a dual fuel injection structure for an internal combustion engine for supplementing a liquid fuel such as diesel oil with a gaseous fuel such as natural gas, which overcomes the shortcoming of the state of the art, namely, gaseous fuel is discharged together with scavenging air. CONSTITUTION: A gaseous fuel is supplied by a programmed electronic control unit 70 in a fuel injection structure having a cylinder 12 with a built-in fuel inlet valve 40. The unit 70 regulates the operation of fuel injection to be in accordance with certain sensed engine operation parameters to determine from the parameters a desired gaseous flow rate. A signal responsive to the parameters actuates the valve 40 to control the flow. |
