Date Nov. 28, 1991.A scroll compressor has a first scroll member and a second scroll member rotated in the same direction as the first scroll member. A limit plate is provided to limit an axial movement of one of the scroll members with respect to the other. A pressure chamber is formed between the limit plate and an end plate of the scroll member, and the pressure chamber is connected to a compression space formed by the two scroll members. A resilient sealing device is provided in the pressure chamber so that the sealing device is contacted with at least one of the limit plate and the end plate of the scroll member.
