PURPOSE:To execute binding operation at a proper position by successively performing a process for confirming the longitudinal and lateral directions of image data, a process for determining a reference image direction, a binding position confirming process and a process for judging the matching properties of binding position data. CONSTITUTION:It is judged whether a stapling mode is set in a step S581 after the completion of copy and, at the time of the stapling mode, the confirmation of the matching properties of an image direction is performed in a step $582. When the matching properties are OK, a stapler is operated to enter a READY mode. When the matching properties are NG, the operation of the stapler is prohibited in a step S583 to advance to a step S584. In the step S584, an alarm display code is sent out when an operation part is in a code receiving READY state in order to display an alarm on the operation part and the alarm is displayed in order to call for the confirmation of an operator. This constitution is effective even in a case aming at the formation of a double-side image. |
