PURPOSE:To prevent mixing of colors from occurring between printing color belts of a multicolor ink ribbon and enable beautiful color printing, by a construction wherein a blank part is provided between each adjacent pair of printing color belts of a multicolor ink ribbon, with the length of the blank part set to be at least two times of a ribbon-folding width. CONSTITUTION:When printing by the multicolor ink ribbon cassette, the multicolor ink ribbon 9 is taken into the cassette 1 through a ribon intake opening 6 by cooperating of a pair of intake rollers 7, 8 concurrently with a printing operation of a printing head, and is contained into the cassette 1 in the state of being periodically folded in the ribbon-folding width L. The length of the blank parts 10 each of which is provided between each adjacent pair of the printing color belts Y, M, C is set to be at least two times of the ribbon-folding width L. By this, a releasing part consisting of the blank part 10 is provided between the color belts Y, M, C irrespectively of the folded state of the ribbon. Accordingly, the printing color belts Y, M, C will not make contact with each other. |
