<p>PURPOSE:To obtain the subject new compound, useful as an antimicrobial agent for sensitive and resistant Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria and stable to beta-lactamases and dehydropeptidase-I (DHP-I). CONSTITUTION:The objective compound of formula I[R<1> is H or methyl; R<2> is H or negative charge; X is N(R<3>) (R<3> is H, lower alkyl, formimidoyl, etc.), etc.; Z is S, O, sulfinyl or sulfonyl; W is H, lower alkyl or COOR<23> (R<23> is H or lower alkyl), etc.; (p), (q), (r) and (t) are 0-3], e.g. (1R, 5S, 6S)-6-[(1R)-1- hydroxyethyl]-1-methyl-2-[(2S, 4S)-2-(1-thia-4-azacycloheptan-7-yl-pyrrolidin-4- ylthio]-1-carbapen-2-em-3-carboxylic acid. This compound of formula I is obtained by reacting a compound of formula II (R<a> and R<2a> are H or protecting group) with a compound of formula III.</p> |
