PURPOSE: To provide an elastomeric bushing assembly which can be produced at a lower cost with a smaller number of parts and is capable of preventing debris from entering a ball joint and damaging it by forming the elastomeric bushing against the middle part of a bar pin having a first and a second ears, and containing the bar pin and elastomeric bushing in a cylindrical outer sleeve. CONSTITUTION: Three major parts of the assembly are a bar pin 10, an elastomeric bushing 20 and a cylindrical outer sleeve 30. The bar pin has a middle part 12 and a pair of ears 14, 16. The middle part 12 has a flat part 18. The elastomeric bushing 20 has inner surface 32, side 36 and outer surface 34. The inner surface 32 is bonded to the surface of the middle part 12. The elastomeric bushing 20 and the bar pin 10 are fitted in the outer sleeve 30, the axial length of the outer sleeve 30 exceeding the axial length of the outer surface 34 of the elastomeric bushing, the edges 40, 42 of the sleeve being bent toward the horizontal axis CL. As a result, snap rings or split rings become unnecessary. |
