PURPOSE: To form a sheet conveying apparatus wherein sheets can be regulated and also reliably guided during continuous transfer of the sheets to reduce transfer speed of the sheets in a printing press. CONSTITUTION: The sheet conveying apparatus comprises a lower portion 12 secured to a paper discharger and an upper portion 11 releasably coupled to the lower portion. The upper portion mainly comprises deflecting rollers 8, 9, a tension roller 10, a transfer member 1 wound around the rollers 8, 9, 19 and a slide plate having a suction port, which extends along a sheet transfer direction in a wedge form with an angle of 1 to 10 deg.. Therefore since a cross-sectional area of the suction port increases in the sheet transfer direction, sheets are pneumatically braked to their ends and fixed in position to be reliably guided to form a pile. |
