PURPOSE: To provide a facing material suitably used for a diaper or the like which can effectively absorb body fluid, by comprising a fiber top layer for absorbing body fluid, an opaque porous intermediate layer, and a bottom layer having the capillary tube structure. CONSTITUTION: A facing material 100 is obtained by laminating an upper fiber layer 10 of a non-returnable hydrophobic web, an opaque porous intermediate layer 20 of a thin plastic film, and a bottom layer 30 of a hydrophilic web made of a fiber material which absorbs the fluid by the capillary action. The hydrophobic fiber exist on both sides of the intermediate layer 20, and the fiber of the fiber layer 10 is pulled in a single direction by a needle 50 with a hook in such manner that the hydrophilic fiber is remained only on one side. A gap is formed in the intermediate layer 20 by this interlacing process. The obtained complex structure includes the hydrophobic non-retaining layer extending in the hydrophilic layer which can generate the higher capillary pressure, through the opaque film. Accordingly, the body fluid accumulated on the hydrophobic side, is absorbed by the hydrophilic layer, and is included under the opaque layer to be sealed. |
