<p>PURPOSE: To enhance the reliability by providing a fastening device for fixing a guide rod for depressing a circular knife onto a mated knife, at an extended position so that the circular knife and the mated knife are precisely positioned in order to completely fix the guide rod. CONSTITUTION: A knife holder incorporates a carrier housing 1 coupled to a paper working machine, and a guide rod 2 thereof is fixed thereto with a knife head 3 incorporating a circular knife 4. With this arrangement, the circular knife 4 is opposed to a mated knife 6. Further, a carrier housing 1 is in the form of a cylinder 29 for depressing the circular knife 4. Further, the guide rod 2 is held in a guide bushing 42 which is screwed into the cylinder 29. In this arrangement, a fastening sleeve 51 formed therein with a vertically slit 49 is supported at its upper end to a piston head 34, surrounding the guide rod 2. An outer conical part 56 of the fastening sleeve 51 is coupled to an inner conical part 57 of the guide bushing 42.</p> |
