PURPOSE:To control the thickness of a sheet in target thickness by easily correcting a gap between calender rolls accurately during a time when the sheet is formed by the calender rolls. CONSTITUTION:When a gap between calender rolls 14, 20 is corrected, the variation of a distance between roll shafts 16, 19 is detected while moving the calender roll 20, the variation and the quantity of the gap corrected are compared, and the movement of the calender roll 20 is stopped when these quantities are equalized. Accordingly, since the quantity of correction is detected directly, control does not depend upon the change of the plastic characteristics, etc., of a material even when the plastic characteristics, etc. are changed, and the gap is corrected only by said comparison, and control is facilitated. |
