<p>PURPOSE:To reduce loads applied to the lowermost recording paper by rotating a calling roller while the end portion of recording paper placed on a paper feeding stand presses the upper surface of another recording paper, and stopping a pressing plate from pressing the recording paper after the end portion of the recording paper has reached a nip portion. CONSTITUTION:If paper feeding is started while a paper set sensor 18 detects recording paper, the recording paper must be fed in by a calling roller 4 until the end portion of the recording paper reaches a paper feeding roller 5 and the nip portion of a pad 6, and the arrival of the end portion of the recording paper near the nip portion is detected according to whether or not a recording paper end position sensor 19 is turned on. When the sensor 19 is turned on, the recording paper 2 is pressed by a pressing plate 3 in order to further feed the recording paper 2 near the nip portion and the calling roller 4 and the paper feeding roller 5 are rotated for a fixed time, and after the fixed time has elapsed the pressing plate 3 is stopped from pressing the paper. When the sensor 19 is not turned on, the calling roller 4 is rotated while the pressing plate 3 is actuated, so that the recording paper is fed toward the nip portion.</p> |
