PURPOSE: To retain a door at an open position by providing a hole at a predetermined location of a pin fixed to a frame-side hinge leaf and fastening a biasing member retraction-freely elastically held at a door-side hinge leaf at the time of supporting a door to a frame via a hinge. CONSTITUTION: A hinge is formed of a hinge leaf 14 to be mounted to a frame 100, a hinge leaf 16 to be mounted to a door 102, and a pin assembly 42 mounted to the knuckle of the leaf 14 in such a way as to be incapable of rotation. Then a hole 86 is formed at a predetermined location in the external surface of the pin 42. A biasing member 74 such as a steel ball and a biasing means 76 such as a spring to press the biasing member 74 are provided inside the leaf 16. At the time of opening and closing the door 102, the member 74 is engaged with the hole 86 to retain the door 102 at a predetermined open position. Furthermore, the retained position may be the closed position of the door 102 and a plurality of open positions, and a plurality of groups of the members 74 and the holes 86 may be vertically arranged to provide a predetermined torque. By this constitution, it is possible to retain a door, etc., reliably at a predetermined position. |
