PURPOSE: To obtain a fiber article having molding stability not causing yellowing of a fibrous material on heating and molding by treating a polyamide-containing article with a composition containing a specific compound. CONSTITUTION: In subjecting a polyamide-based fibrous material to fluorescent whitening treatment (or dyeing treatment), the fibrous material is treated with a treating solution obtained by mixing a treating solution containing a fluorescent brighter (or a dye) with a benzofuran-2-one compound of the formula (R1 is a nonsubstituted or a substituted phenyl, in this case, the substituent group is <=18C-containing one to three alkyl, 1-12C alkoxy 1-18C acyloxy, 1-18C alkoxycarbonyl, chlorine or the like; R2 is H or a 1-4C alkyl; R4 is a 1-12C alkyl, a 5-7C cycloalkyl, phenyl or the like; R3 is R2 or R4 ; R5 is H, a 1-30C alkyl, cyclopentyl or the like) to give a polyamide fiber article not causing yellowing of the fiber, having extremely high whiteness and exhibiting a clearly colored molding stability. |
