PURPOSE:To reduce an uncomfortable steering wheel shock relating to a driver by detecting steering torque of a steering wheel, controlling a solenoid valve based on this detecting result, and switching a switching valve to prevent a quick change of assist force according to switching the switching valve. CONSTITUTION:This vane pump is constituted of a rotor 6 rotated in a housing 2, vane 7 slidingly moved in the rotor 6, cam ring 5 of partitioning a pump chamber with these rotor and vane and a plurality of side plates 3, 4, etc. Here, a solenoid valve 16 is arranged in a side facing to a switching valve pressure chamber 14 of the housing 12 in a switching valve 1. A switching mechanism 50 is constituted of the solenoid valve 16, torque sensor 18 and a control means 19. That is, the solenoid valve 16 is controlled by the control means 19 based on a detection signal of the torque sensor 18, thus to switch the switching valve 1. Now when steering torque is generated, for instance, small of a steering wheel, a suction side passage 22 communicates with a communication path 23. |
