PURPOSE:To obtain the sample-sucking detecting method, which can simply detect the clogging state in a sample probe at a low cost, by utilizing a general liquid-surface detecting mechanism. CONSTITUTION:This invention has the parts performing the following functions. A liquid-surface detecting sensor 1 is lowered into a sample cup 25 in synchronization with a sample probe 3, and the liquid surface of a sample 23 is detected with the liquid-surface detecting sensor 1. A driving system stops the sample probe 3 under the state wherein the sample probe 3 is submerged into the sample 23. A syringe 9 sucks the sample 23 into the sample probe 3 by the required amount or more and returns the sample 23, which is sucked by the required amount or more, into the sample cup 25. When the sucking is finished, the liquid-surface detecting sensor 1 becomes the non-detecting state of the liquid surface. When the returning is finished, the liquid-surface detecting sensor 1 is returned to the liquid-surface detecting state. |
