Compositions comprising a) an epoxidised novolak resin and b) from 0.1 to 100 parts by weight, based on 100 parts by weight of component a), of at least one compound of the formula I <IMAGE> in which X1 is chlorine or bromine, X2 is chlorine, bromine or hydrogen, Y is O or S, R1 and R2, independently of one another, are C1-C4-alkyl, and R3 and R4 are identical or different substituted groups of the formula II <IMAGE> in which R1, R2, X1 and X2 are as defined above, or R3 and R4 together form a group of the formula III <IMAGE> in which R1 and R2 are as defined above, are highly suitable as flame inhibitors in epoxidised novolak systems. |
